Chicago is a bustling, energetic city that never stops no matter the season. It is a destination with world-class cultural attractions, diverse neighborhoods and architectural wonders. Chicago is known for critically acclaimed restaurants, world-renowned museums, first-class shopping, adventurous nightlife, action-packed sporting events and a thriving theater scene. The Chicago Cultural Center (pictured) is described as a "neo-classical masterpiece" that features two art-glass domes and glittering mosaic walls. The many galleries in the Cultural Center exhibit contemporary art from around town as well as works from around the world.
Due to the cold winter season in the region, heating needs are a real concern. The SunMaxx Evactuated tube solar thermal collectors are specifically designed for the colder northern climates. Even in the dead of winter, when temperatures can drop well below freezing, SunMaxx Evacuated Tube systems allow you to use solar energy to make hot water. The SunMaxx TS20 and the SunMaxx TS30 are examples of evacuated tube systems. These thermosyphon systems require no pumps or electronics to operate. Simply install one for your home, facing the system to the south, to reduce your dependance on fossil fuels while enjoying free hot water.

Operational Basics of a Solar Thermosyphon System:
Through the process of natural convection, hot water rises and cold water sinks. This principle is applied in the operation of a Thermosyphon System. Cold water sinks from the storage tank at the top of the unit into the evacuated tubes. In the tubes, the cold water is heated, rising back up into the storage tank as it increases in temperature. Throughout the day, all of the cold water within the Thermpsyphon System will be heated in this way.

Silicon Solar offers a number of seminars throughout the year to assist homeowners, small business owners, and renewable energy dealers and installers in learning basic and advanced concepts and techniques for Solar Electric(PV) Systems, Solar Thermal (Hot Water and Hot Air) Systems and Wind Energy Systems.
These seminars and workshops are designed to help newcomers to the renewable energy field gain a basic or even advanced understanding of the different renewable energy options that are available and how these different systems can be applied, at home or around the office, to save hundreds or even thousands of dollars a year in energy costs. These seminars are also a great way for renewable energy dealers and installers to stay up to date on the latest renewable energy equipment, news, industry trends and sales techniques.
Silicon Solar Seminars are beneficial for anyone interested in renewable energy, regardless of their starting Solar Technologies knowledge level. Even those who have only heard the words solar energy, wind energy, or solar hot water will leave our seminars with an understanding of how renewable energy will help them save money, how these same systems can help save the environment, and what renewable energy options are available and affordable on any budget.
