US Embassies around the world start the process of making their facilities more energy efficient using solar hot water systems to supplement their existing hot water facilities. SunMaxx Solar is leading the way by helping embassies around the world take advantage of the sun's energy and cost effective solar thermal technology. Each solar system includes our VDF (ThermoPower-VDF) series evacuated tube collectors, solar storage tank, heat transfer station and solar thermal storage tanks. So far, people who have installed a solar hot water system have been able to receive up to $4,000 through the California Solar Initiative (CSI) Thermal program of PG&E. This program is now expiring. Applications submitted after July 31, 2020 will not be accepted.
So if you are already considering whether to opt for a Solar Hot Water System, you should make this decision as soon as possible.
The program is structured in such a way that the final incentive amount is calculated based on the performance of the system. Solar installers can help their customers to get a better idea of what this means for each individual.
In order to qualify for the grants, the household or company in question must currently heat with natural gas. Not with electricity or propane.
PG&E points out the advantages of a solar hot water system: "Installing a solar water heating system may reduce the portion of your PG&E natural gas bill that is charged for heating water by up to 50 to 80 percent."
SunMaxx is happy to help with any questions.
