Solar Hot Water Incentives in California are soon to be over
avwFm87mDz2020-10-17T16:00:32+00:00California Solar Initiative (CSI) Thermal program through PG&E ends this year
So far, people who have installed a solar hot water system have been able to receive up to $4,000 through the California Solar Initiative (CSI) Thermal program of PG&E. This program is now expiring. Applications submitted after July 31, 2020 will not be accepted.
So if you are already considering whether to opt for a Solar Hot Water System, you should make this decision as soon as possible.
The program is structured in such a way that the final incentive amount is calculated based on the performance of the system. Solar installers can help their customers to get a better idea of what this means for each individual.
In order to qualify for the grants, the household or company in question must currently heat with natural gas. Not with electricity or propane.
PG&E points out the advantages of a solar hot water system: "Installing a solar water heating system may reduce the portion of your PG&E natural gas bill that is charged for heating water by up to 50 to 80 percent."
SunMaxx is happy to help with any questions.

Solar Hot Water System Designed And Installed On Huron Campus Endicott NY
avwFm87mDz2020-10-17T16:03:18+00:00SunMaxx recently worked with partner company Intelligent Green Solutions (IGS) to provide a solar hot water system installed on the Huron Campus – the office building in Endicott, NY run by Huron Real Estate Associates. SunMaxx provided all of the solar materials for the solar hot water system installation, including 10 TitanPower-ALH32HP flat plate solar collectors, ConnectMaxx free-standing mounting hardware, a StorMaxx solar storage tank and more. SunMaxx additionally provided engineering and on-site support assistance during installation. The solar system for the Huron Campus is designed to provide about 48% of the total hot water needs of the building and will generate more than 17,200 kwh of heating energy every year. This will translate into a first year energy savings of more than $2,500, with a anticipated 15 year cumulative energy savings of more than $49,000 (based on a below average 3% annual increase in energy prices). You can view a complete breakdown of the Huron Campus solar hot water system here: Huron Campus Solar Hot Water Reference Project.
