Quick video on how to replace your evacuated tube heat pipes (replace or to remove if you have issues with producing too much heat!) .

In our offer we have three sizes of dual line set in pipe diameter 5/8", 3/4" or 1".  Lineset diameter depends on a size of the whole installation (number of collector or banks). For small domestic systems usually we are using 5/8" that it is the best solutions for this type. For larger system 3/4" or 1" diameter will be better to optimize the whole system. If you want to choose the right size, you can contact the engineering team. they will definitely  help you to make a right decision.

Connecting the heat exchanges depends on a customer requirements. The number of HX depends on some factors like tanks size, number of collectors and heat requirements. There are some possibilities to connect the heat exchangers. In our offer 80/80 Stacked 3/4" Corrugated Stainless Steel HX and 90 3/4" Corrugated Stainless Steel HX. Customer can connect HX in few ways. Only Solar Side, no connection in DHW side or both side connected.

DHW&Solar Side Connection - Stacked HX

DHW SIDE + SOLAR SIDE

Connection used in stacked HX. One of the most common type of HX connection. Requires some additional elements like HX Connection Tees. Applicable for connection HX on DHW side and Solar Side. For more accurate questions you can contact the engineering team.

Solar Side Connection - Stacked HX

SOLAR SIDE

Connection used in stacked HX. Requires some additional elements like HX Connection Tees. The connection type uses only the Solar Side ports. There is no heat exchanger connected with DHW Side.

DHW&SolarSide Connection - HX

DHW SIDE + SOLAR SIDE

Connection used in single HX. Requires some additional elements like HX Connection Coupling. Applicable for connection HX on DHW side and Solar Side.  One heat exchanger is connected to solar loop, there other is connected to DHW loop. There is a possibility to add more heat exchangers on both side. In this case you will need some extra elements like HX Connection Tees.

SolarSide Connection - HX

SOLAR SIDE

Connection used in single HX. Requires some additional elements like HX Connection Tees. The connection type uses only the Solar Side ports. There is no heat exchanger connected with DHW Side.

There can be a lot of reasons which lead to problems with sensor reading error. Due to this you can follow the steps below, maybe they can help you to solve the problem:Remember to turn of the appliance form electricity, safety is the most important
  1. Check all wires - connection is required to correct work of sensor. If there is a loose, try to put in harder inside
    1. If problem vanish, your repair is completed
    2. If no follow the next step
  2. Take the multimeter tool and check the current flow of the wire. If you have some values, the sensor is fully functional
  3. When you still have a problem you can constant to engineering team, maybe they can help you or replace the whole device.
These simply step can help to solve the problem.
The SmartMaxx™ controllers work similar like thermistors but there is a little difference in the way of measuring the temperature. The Pt1000 sensors (type of sensor which are using our systems) are also called RTDs. The resistance temperature probe is based on the resistance of metal in our case Platinum. The resistance of this metal depends on the temperature. Basically there are two types of thermistors PTC (the resistance is increasing due to temperature growth) and NTC (an increase in temperature causes the resistance to decrease) - the value of resistance depends on temperature. These type of sensors are more sensitive than basic type of controllers.
In our offer there are two series StorMaxx SE and StorMaxx ETEC, which have an possibility to provide additional heat form electric heat exchanger.  These solutions are used in situation, when the water temperature is under the expectations. This system helps solar system to heat water inside the tank using the electric power.
