Non-Pressurized Tank Extended Warranty

New York Brewery Goes Solar
avwFm87mDz2013-07-31T11:48:58+00:00SunMaxx Solar Installs New York’s First Brewery Solar Hot Water System FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- SunMaxx Solar manufactured and installed a solar hot water system at Cooper’s Cave Ale Company in Glen Falls, NY. It is the first brewery in the state to install a Solar Thermal Hot Water Heating System. SunMaxx Solar engineers designed a custom system to facilitate the brew pub’s 280,000 gallon per year hot water demand. In a recent interview with Poststar.com, the brewery’s co-owner, Adrian Bethal, says the brew pub has not run out of water since the installation – a common problem for most breweries. SunMaxx Certified dealer, John Verba, owner of Holllitronics Energy Solutions, installed the system. It includes 10 panels of evacuated tubes, and a 325 gallon solar thermal tank. Bethal says the system cost $25,000, and the state authority helped out with $15,000. These figures do not even include the 30% federal rebate for solar hot water system installations. The co-owner mentions his energy bills are now $200 lower than before the system was installed. Bethal states, “I figured two years will be my payoff point”. The pub used the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority Program (NYSERDA) – a program providing incentives to encourage businesses to change their existing hot water systems into solar thermal systems. NYSERDA representatives say the program has already provided incentives to 196 installations – over $1.7 million dollars. Is the Solar Thermal Hot Water Industry Growing?
avwFm87mDz2013-07-26T13:05:55+00:00FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Is there anything keeping solar thermal from taking over the solar industry? Is it “the next big thing”? What is being done to push the market forward? Ed Gunn, SunMaxx Solar’s Thermal Hot Water Expert and Sales Manager, was recently featured in Solar Industry Magazine answering these very questions. Gunn says the market is already seeing growth this year compared to 2012. “We [SunMaxx Solar] have seen movement and progress on a number of commercial projects, as well as dealer activity in residential projects.” Mandates in sustainability, rising energy costs, and political stability, are playing an important role in this industry’s growth. But it is obvious federal and state governments are committed in taking the industry to the next level. The federal government offers a 30% tax credit and many states offer tax credits as well which can be coupled with the federal. According to Gunn, Californians are receiving the most payback this year, thanks to the California Solar Initiative (CSI) Thermal Rebate Program. The state has set aside $350 million in rebates; offering residents up to $1,834 to displace their existing electric or propane systems, and commercial/government projects a max of $500,000. There are also natural gas incentives up to $2,719 for residents, and $250,000 to commercial/government projects. Considering the federal tax credit, Gunn mentions it is important for the industry “…to look at more cost-effective collectors [rather than] more efficient collectors at this point.” It’s simple economics: the rebate programs attract consumers to purchase the products. A high the demand for the products will drive down the cost. SunMaxx solar is already offering customers lower prices if they buy in bulk, and combination kits that are more affordable than if a consumer itemized each component separately.
“Military and larger commercial applications, as well as redevelopment programs for multi-dwelling buildings where federal and state governments are involved,” are segments Gunn sites as especially promising in the future of solar thermal hot water applications.
