Restored Sunshine Program: It’s Always Sunny in Pennsylvania (not just Philadelphia)
avwFm87mDz2013-03-11T16:09:39+00:00FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – March 11, 2013 – Binghamton, NY – SunMaxx Solar, a leading vertically integrated manufacturer of solar thermal systems and components, is excited to share news that funding has been restored to the existing Pennsylvania Sunshine Rebate Program. Thanks to $7.25 million in funding from the Commonwealth Financing Authority, the PA Sunshine program, which was authorized in July 2008 and began accepting applications in May 2009 under the administration of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), is once again actively seeking applications for solar rebates. The DEP is reserving a portion of these funds to satisfy rebate reservations and applications for projects that have been previously submitted but on a waiting list. The Sunshine program provides homeowners and small business owners with a newly installed solar system (solar thermal or photo-voltaic , the opportunity to qualify for state rebates that range from $7,500 for a residential system to $52,500 for a small commercial system. Along with renewed funding, the DEP made some changes that include a stream-lined one step application process as well as hosting events/webinars to answer questions and assist interested parties. Consumers still must choose an installer from an approved installer list and the installer will complete and submit the PA Sunshine Rebate Application Package online. And, in order to be eligible for the first come, first served rebate program which began January 26, 2013, you must have constructed or completed your project after that date. And any project prior to that date must have a current approved rebate reservation from prior to January 26, 2013. Edward Gunn, Sales Manager at SunMaxx Solar, says, "we're excited to see the Sunshine Program with renewed funding, as it's one of the best state rebate programs in the country. The Sunshine rebate at 35% coupled with the Federal tax credit 30% and you are looking at over 60% of the system cost covered with tax credits and rebates for residential. And if you look at a commercial system, which is also eligible for accelerated depreciation, you're looking at 80 to 90% of the system costs covered! Please feel free to contact SunMaxx or your representative for a system analysis with a financial model and to go over any questions you may have." As SunMaxx Solar continues to grow every day, the company never fails to uphold its philosophy of building a sustainable future for our global community. By making its products simpler and more applicable to the general public, our community can make strides towards lessening our carbon footprint. In today’s energy consuming world, SunMaxx Solar offers world-class solar and renewable energy products, striving to meet the increasing need for alternative energy sources. SunMaxx Solar Collaborates with Wisconsin Technical College System
avwFm87mDz2013-03-11T16:02:08+00:00IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Binghamton, NY - March 11, 2013 – SunMaxx Solar, a leading vertically integrated manufacturer of solar thermal systems and components is delighted to announce their partnership with the Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) to provide both certified solar hot water training and solar thermal systems for 8 colleges in the system. SunMaxx began working with Earlyn Hanson, Instructor and Project Manager at the Wisconsin Technical College System back in the Spring of 2012. The college system received a federal grant for the state's Sector Alliance for the Green Economy (SAGE) project. This grant allowed WTCS to purchase necessary tools to allow their students hands on experience in solar thermal technology. WTCS purchased SunMaxx Pro Dealer Kits for the colleges involved in the program. These kits will provide students with a functioning, life-size demo solar hot water system to experiment with for training and educational purposes. WTCS stimulates local economic development by providing the state with hands-on education that brings people and jobs together at incredibly high placement rates. They offer over 300 career programs, including two-year associate degrees, one and two year technical diplomas, short term technical certificates and customized training and technical assistance directly to business and industry. Edward Gunn, SunMaxx Sales Manager says, "We're thrilled to be working with the Wisconsin Technical College System by providing industry leading equipment for their classrooms and certified solar thermal training to their instructors!” SunMaxx Solar aims to build a sustainable future for our global community and is proud that the company’s installations greatly contribute to reducing our carbon footprint. In today’s energy consuming world, SunMaxx Solar offers world-class solar and renewable energy products, striving to meet the increasing need for alternative energy sources.
SunMaxx Installs Solar Thermal System At Brightly Farms in Hamlin, NY
avwFm87mDz2013-03-04T14:33:31+00:00The project was contracted by Matt Beres at Simply Solar Systems who designed and installed the system after a faulty wood and fuel oil heating system burned the vegetable farm’s repair shop to the ground in the fall of 2010. When Brightly Farms’ new shop was being designed, a key component was the heating system. Simply Solar Systems approached Brightly Farms with the option of adding a solar thermal system from SunMaxx Solar to supplement their heating and hot water needs. The farm chose radiant floor heating throughout the entire concrete floor of the 10,400 sq. ft. building. Brightly Farms was pleased to purchase a SunMaxx Solar drainback system from Simply Solar Systems that would supply 100% of their hot water needs and about 70% of their heating needs. The system is composed of an 822 gallon non-pressurized storage tank with two heat exchangers: (2) 200′ coils for the radiant floor and (1) 100′ coil for the hot water. The drainback system was plumbed into the heating system using copper, plumbed into the domestic hot water using Pex, and plumbed into the solar collectors using Aquatherm piping. The solar collectors used were the VHP-30′s (Vacuum Heat Pipe, 30 Tube). Fourteen collectors in total were used in this job to maximize efficiency of the system. Located in Hamlin, NY, Brightly Farms cultivates a wide array of vegetation including apples, pumpkins, cabbage, and melons. SunMaxx Solar is proud to announce that the installation by Simply Solar Systems using SunMaxx Solar products on the farm’s property is greatly reducing the carbon footprint of the farm, further aiding in reaching its agricultural green energy initiatives.
